Our Story

C&C

Courtney and Colton have known each other their entire life and it is so evident that the Lord had His hand in this story over the course of the past 33 years.

Larry and Diane, Colton's parents, and Danny and Tracey, Courtney's parents met in UT Martin and became instant friends sharing many memories together throughout their college and post grad life together. Upon Danny and Tracey graduating from UTM, they were planning their Wedding, and it wouldn't have been complete without Larry and Diane being in it the fall of 1987. From the college years on, the Wiseman and Lee families were lifelong friends.

Throughout the years between Memphis and Nashville, both families kept in touch often. Whether that be the Wiseman's going to Memphis for Courtney's travel soccer tournaments or the Lee's visiting Opryland in Nashville at Christmas time, we always enjoyed being together. Even at one of the family gatherings, Colton’s mom, Diane, gave Courtney permission to marry Colton in the 4th grade. Cue Courtney turning bright red in pure embarrassment!

Ultimately, Colton and Courtney ended up in Knoxville together attending the University of Tennessee and became good friends over the course of their four years there. Attending date parties, football games, and business classes together they always had fun spending time together and running in the same friend circles. Courtney always wanted her friends to date Colton because he was “such a good guy”.

Post grad life led Courtney to Dallas and Colton to Memphis however the two always kept in touch as Colton would travel to Dallas for work, they would run into each other at UT games and when Courtney did move back to Nashville, they would always reach out to one another if in each other's respective city. And of course, their parents always kept them up to date on what was really going on with the other.

Courtney and Colton also share the same birthday month of July. In the summer of 2023 Colton reached out to tell Courtney Happy Birthday and that he would be in Nashville for Labor Day Weekend to cheer on the Vols as they would be playing in Nashville. Courtney was sure to see Colton that weekend for the game as it had been a while since they had seen each other. Upon post-game festivities, they ended up together and hanging out with a lot of their college friends at Acme celebrating the Vols win. In true Courtney fashion, dinner was approaching so she asked Colton “hey want to leave Broadway and go to dinner?”. Colton’s immediate response was "yes and let’s Uber to wherever you want to go". Bricktop’s on West End it is and after a 3-hour dinner the rest was history.

So, in Colton’s words, after 33 years she finally asked me out.
